Caitlin Dullard – CEO/Director of La Mama
Caitlin Dullard began working at La Mama in 2006. Starting out as a volunteer, then working Front of House and went onto roles as Mobile (touring) and Access (community) Producers from 2010. Caitlin was appointed Company Manager/Creative Producer in January 2014, became co-CEO in February 2019, CEO in January 2023 and Artistic Director in April 2023. She has curated La Mama’s Explorations program since 2014 and was Project Manager on the La Mama Rebuild, after the devastating fire of 2018.
Caitlin holds a Masters of Teaching (English and Drama), a Post Graduate Diploma of Arts (Theatre), a Bachelor of Arts (Drama and Literature) and a Post-Graduate Certificate of Arts & Community Engagement at the VCA. Caitlin has also worked with Auguto Boal and trained in Forum Theatre.
She has worked extensively across New Zealand and regional Victoria, devising and presenting works and developing exchange programs and collaborations. Since 2014, Caitlin has produced the site-specific durational version of Uncle Vanya in Avoca, Stieglitz, Eganstown, Bundanon and The Cedars as part of the Adelaide Festival. She has also produced Coranderrk: We Will Show the Country, as part of the Minutes of Evidence Project, in various locations, including on site at Coranderrk.
Selene Bateman – Auspicious Arts Projects
Selene Bateman is a highly regarded arts administrator, producer and project manager who has worked in the creative sector for nearly 20 years. She has produced animated tv series, queer cabarets and comedy shows for kids. As the CEO and Senior Client Manager at Auspicious, she has worked with hundreds of artists across art forms and career stages, helping them navigate the funding landscape, get budgets into shape, and manage their projects. She is also an experienced grant writer, workshop facilitator, and financial manager.
Auspicious Arts Project Inc was established in 1993 to assist artists undertaking projects within the arts. The intention was to provide artists with all the protection and advantages of working with a larger organisation while still remaining independent and in control of their work. Auspicious offers financial and administrative management for individuals and small art organisations. This includes assistance with the day-to-day financial aspects of the project. In addition Auspicious offers advice and guidance to artists to the most likely sources of funding, as well assistance preparing budgets for funding applications. Auspicious Arts Projects work with artists from across the spectrum of the arts, and has watched many of its Artists grow in to fully fledged companies of their own right.
