Experience La Mama Courthouse transformed into the acoustic environment of the famous Hagia Sofia mosque in Istanbul
During the long mid-winter lockdown of 2022, Nick decided to get off the couch and do something, anything, as a response to the existential angst everyone was living through at the time. So, after reading a scholarly article of a scientist popping a balloon in Hagia Sophia, Nick began documenting his thoughts late at night, as the house became silent.
This evolved into Maps for Losing Oneself, which was released as a CD the following year…. but it was never officially launched – until now. Experience La Mama Courthouse transformed into the acoustic environment of the famous Hagia Sofia mosque in Istanbul, by way of a popped balloon, the algorithms it created and Nick and his bass.
Musica: Maps for Losing Oneself will also be livestreamed on Nov 6, Monday, 7.30pm. Livestream playback will be available for 72 hours.
