Carl is a man grieving the death of his dog and the deportation of his drug-trafficking ex girlfriend. Once a successful actor on the soap opera ‘Neighbours’ his inability to accept criticism led him to attacking the director. He now spends his time writing poetry, getting kicked off buses and lamenting the state of his broken washing machine.

Grappling with the adversity in his life he spends an evening with his brother and sister in law and finds a sense of family and love.

Cheer Up Carl will also be livestreamed on July 22, Friday, 7:30pm.
