To hone in on the notion of rebirth, one must first look back and reflect on what once was and what has contributed to its placement. The exploration of such through ‘Fade To Black’ showcases the ever present preliminary process of performance preparation: garnering stage craft elements to embody a character but above all, honing in on the performance mindset which, more often than not, differs from reality. Accompanied with the repeated stage directions overdubbed, this piece offers viewers to observe the ritual of the actors process, emptying their minds and in a sense rebirthing themselves.
