La Mama Poetica is a night of some of the best spoken word and poetry that Melbourne has to offer, with a diverse selection of both emerging and established poets. La Mama Poetica is curated and hosted by Amanda Anastasi.

Tuesday, 4th of June at La Mama Courthouse, 349 Drummond St, Carlton at 7.30pm for an 8pm start.

La Mama Poetica featuring TT.O., Michelle Cahill, Matt Hetherington and Anna Forsyth. 

TT.O. has published many books including ‘Big Numbers – New & Selected Poems’ and ‘Fitzroy – The Biography’, and is soon to launch a book on art entitled ‘HEIDE’. He is also the editor of the poetry magazine ‘Unusual Work’.

MICHELLE CAHILL is a Sydney poet and a recipient of the QPF’s Vals Vallis Award. She recently released a book of poetry called ‘The Herring Lass’ (Arc Publications, 2016) and is also the author of ‘Vishvarupa’ (Five Islands Press, 2012), shortlisted in the Victorian Premiers Literary Awards.

MATT HETHERINGTON is a writer and music maker based in Northern NSW. He has been writing poetry for 30 years and published over 300 poems. His fifth collection is ‘The Love of the Sun’ (Recent Work Press, 2018). 

ANNA FORSYTH has had poems published in FourW, n-Scribe, Poetry in New Zealand, Landfall and Headland, and her latest collection is ‘Beatific Toast’ (General Chaos Press, 2018). She is currently working on a project called ‘The Unknown Great’ for release in 2019.
