Xanthe is a Melbourne-based performance maker with a background in theatre and dance. She works as a theatre-maker, movement-director, producer, project facilitator and teacher – taking on different roles according to the needs of each artist, organisation or community she collaborates with. As well as working at La Mama, Xanthe is co-Artistic Director of Union House Theatre at UMSU, University of Melbourne. 

A strong advocate for the independent arts, throughout her career Xanthe has supported hundreds of artists on the realisation of their creative ideas. She worked as the Independent Program Producer at Melbourne Fringe and has co-chaired the Green Room panel for Independent Theatre. Xanthe has worked with some of Australia’s leading arts organisations and cultural institutions including the Victorian College of the Arts, Melbourne Fringe Festival, Footscray Community Arts Centre, Arts Access Victoria, University of Melbourne, Queensland Performing Arts Centre, and KITE Theatre. 

In her creative practice Xanthe is recognised for collaborating with artists, non-artists and communities to develop work that engages with, responds to and reflects their uniqueness. Recent creative credits include – director: The Lonely Crowd, things we should talk about and movement director: Ida (all for Union House Theatre), movement director: My Brilliant Career (Monash Academy of Performing Arts), movement director: Oil Babies (Lab Kelpie/Darebin Arts), movement dramaturg: Ricercar (Present Tense Ensemble/Theatre Works), director: Body Move Space (Footscray Community Arts Centre), performer/collaborator: In Plan (Michelle Heaven). Xanthe has a BA Theatre (Queensland University of Technology) and also trained at the VCA (Master of Theatre Practice).
