Using the story structure of the hero’s journey, Moosh the Hobo Cat is about the callousness of humanity in contemporary capitalism. It explores homelessness and social inequality through Moosh’s journey with a fusion of confronting Australian street prose and Persian Dramatic Storytelling. An array of eccentric characters narrate the tale. Moosh the Hobo Cat travels from civility to criminalisation – hard time, both on the street and in a locked cage – then the pathway back from utter despair to hope.
Content Warnings: There may be implied child-eating, through the metaphor of a cannibal cat.
