RMIT Performing Writing: passages of affect

To speak of bodies is not necessarily to speak of human bodies. The thing that defines a“body” is simply the potential to “reciprocate and co-participate” in passages of affect.

Presented by RMIT final year Creative Writing students from the Horizons Studios. The Performing Writing Studio challenges conventional writing methods and genres through the use of spoken word, poetry, sound and screen work, and installations, mapping stories, selves and readers on to new bodies, spaces and mediums.

The evening of performances will also feature an experimental comics fair, presented by Drawing Writing, a comics lab for creative writers that runs as part of RMIT Horizons.

Performed by Kate Katrina, Erin Lyon, Rhys Westbury, Logan Ramsay, Edward Stubbings, Olivia Dye, Alicia Spyropoulos, Ellen Cooke, Monique Nair, Lucy Wadelton, Saaro Umar, Annah Hattingh, and Dayna Mortimore.
