by Virginia Woolf

In Sentient Theatre’s inaugural piece, we celebrate the beautiful literacy and conceptual genius of one of the greatest writers of the 20th Century – Virginia Woolf – and her classic work, A Room of One’s Own, based on a series of lectures by Woolf in 1928 on the subject of “Women of Fiction”.

Sentient Theatre’s production has restructured the narrative into a story featuring four performers who symbolise the four corners of Woolf’s mind in conversation with itself. This delivers the main themes and ideas from the novelette to a present-day audience, whilst keeping Woolf’s language intact and charming humour alive.
