The mixed race experience in a post racial world.
Palagi follows The Other as they examine the individual distress of forced racial identity. Charis’ personal narrative is interwoven with Polynesian folklore as the undercurrent of casual racism in Australia is on full display. The Other embodies the mixed-race experience, relegated to the periphery of imposed constructs. Palagi is a long-form reflection on fluid experiences; wholeness shimmers and light refracts as culture’s waves make their gentle bent against the body.
“As well as an amazing story, Charis also demonstrated wonderful theatre craft”
