Keep La Mama On Stage (2018) campaign was an impromptu response to the fire. With community wanting to help immediately, we quickly raised the funds for all programmed shows to go ahead as scheduled, at different venues. Thank you to all the donors.

Save La Mama (2008) campaign raised almost $2 million dollars in an urgent few months after the death of owner Rose Del Monaco, her sons gave La Mama the first option to buy. For the first time, this provided La Mama’s future with the security of ownership. Thank you to all the donors.

We are grateful for the remarkable number of people who have generously supported La Mama over the years. While it is impossible to name every contributor of the past, we thank you.

Why Leave a Bequest?

For more than sixty years, La Mama Theatre has been a home for courageous independent artists and new Australian work. Generations of playwrights, performers and theatre-makers have found their first audiences, collaborators and creative opportunities at La Mama.

By leaving a gift in your Will, you help ensure future artists continue to have a place to experiment, take creative risks and tell stories that might not otherwise be heard. Your bequest will help nurture new Australian writing, support independent theatre-makers and sustain a vital cultural institution for generations to come.

A bequest is a powerful way to become part of La Mama’s continuing story - helping shape the future of Australian theatre while leaving a lasting legacy of creativity, generosity and belief in artists.

A Personal and Thoughtful Decision

We understand that preparing a Will is deeply personal. Any conversation about leaving a gift to La Mama will be confidential, respectful and without obligation.

Alternatively, you can arrange a bequest through a solicitor.

Bequests of any size make a meaningful contribution and are received with enormous gratitude.
