As apart of Asia TOPA 2020

Fresh from its premiere in Bandung Hades Fading (Hades Memudar) is a vocal and visual performance re-imagining the Ancient Greek realm of Hades fading away in post-apocalyptic times with no humans left to believe in it or imagine it. Hades Memudar reflects on memory, media, belief, and the potential catastrophe awaiting humans if we don’t care for our world. The work features a sophisticated interweaving of English and Indonesian language, stunning projections, and an original score, performed live. It is multilingual, and accessible in Bahasa Indonesia and Bahasa English across a use of surtitles, visual and vocal translation.

For 22 years the Indonesian company Mainteater has created vocal and multilingual performances with artists from Melbourne, reflecting on consumerism and its impact.
Mainteater’s multilingual work Happy 1000 1000 Bahagia received a Melbourne Fringe Innovation of Form Award and a Green Room award nomination for Innovative New Form, and other works include Urat Jagat (Veins of the Universe) and Microcosm

This collaboration between two countries was able to embrace two cultures into one beautiful dish of a show
