Magical, fun, queer fairy tales!

The Story Keepers is a brand-new play where fairy tales are for everyone and all you need to tell a good story is some imagination!

Galen, Magnus, Topher, Arly, and Calico are the Story Keepers. A fantastical group of individuals who record all the fairy tales that have ever been told (and will ever be told) in their magical book. Now, they want to share some especially queer fairy tales with you!

Come join them as they use their book, everyday objects, songs, and your imagination, to tell three overlooked fairy tales from Germany, Spain, and Iceland. Watch as wooden spoons become swords, chairs become mountains, siblings go on quests, musicians search for love, and Vikings become… well you’ll have to come and see that one for yourself! With The Story Keepers, anyone can play anything, and nothing is just as it seems.

Premiering at Midsumma Festival 2022, The Story Keepers is an engaging, silly, enchanting, and unapologetically queer show for kids and their adults.

Written and Directed by Em Chandler
