Deputy Chair of La Mama’s committee of Management since 2008, Dur-e is held in high regard in hospitality, philanthropy, music and the women’s movement.

Restaurateur and businesswoman, Dur-e is a well-known identity in Melbourne with interest across a range of businesses and cultural organisations.

Convener of the Victorian Women’s Foundation since 1993 where she works for gender equity and improving the status of women, she has established and managed a number of Melbourne’s premier restaurants. Music has always been central to Dur-e’s life.

Indeed, she is an accomplished percussionist and performer of spontaneous composition with her life-long partner David Tolley. Dur-e has recently stepped out of the restaurant industry, but she continues to serve on many boards and brings great knowledge of the philanthropic and corporate sectors to La Mama.
