Motherhood: Epic, Overblown. Hilarious. Grotesque.

Mothermorphosis is a one woman, one chicken, pastiche performance art piece that deconstructs Motherhood. Inspired by Kafka’s Metamorphosis, Liz Skitch unpacks the taboos and challenges of transforming from a woman, into a mother. Comedic, dynamic and honest, Mothermorphosis combines intimate confessional and absurdist physical theatre with soundscape. The artist formerly known as Liz Skitch, now known to all as ‘mother of two’, is accompanied by the voices of generations of mothers, and takes the stereotypical notion of a ‘smooth and easy’ transition into motherhood and blows it apart.

Mothermorphosis marks the twentieth birthday of Debase Productions; creating brilliant new comedies since 1998.

Please note that Trades Hall is undergoing significant renovations and unfortunately is not an accessible venue for this performance.
