Mic Smith is happy to return to La Mama and work again with actress Rudie Chapman. Mic’s work at La Mama was always inspired by itinerancy and society’s fringe but No Surrender is about another vulnerability.

Two humans intervene in the fates of two injured animals: Port Fairy icon, the mutton bird and African icon, the rhino. A growing issue in the new epoch of our domination of nature it may also be a metaphor about intervention in lives of the elderly.
