KYOKO’S CHILD: Night of the One Hundred Demons
Kyoko Imazu is a Japanese artist whose practice encompasses a range of mediums such as printmaking, puppetry and installation. Her works are held in collections at National Library of Australia, State Library of Queensland, State Library of Victoria, National Gallery of Australia and numerous private collections worldwide. Wilson Yeung is an artist, curator, researcher and culture producer. He is a PhD student at the RMIT University and his research is concerned with curatorial collaborative practices and curating Asian contemporary art in an Australian context.
Together, Wilson and Kyoko will lead children through a shadow puppet making workshop based around the Japanese folklore ‘Night of the One Hundred Demons’. This workshop will culminate in a short performance by the children for their parents inside Australia’s iconic La Mama Theatre.
Kyoto’s Child is a Special Event and is FREE.
