Due to public demand. A special encore performance.

La Mama and Devil’s Own present:

THE BALLAD OF READING GAOL by Oscar Wilde

Five intrepid performers perform The Ballad of Reading Gaol in Melbourne’s oldest Prison, The Old Melbourne Gaol. Written in 1897, Oscar Wilde’s heart wrenching verse work, in response to his notorious incarceration, is as visceral today as when it was first composed.

‘The Old Melbourne Gaol is the ultimate set – bearing witness to Wilde’s truths over 100 years later.’

‘Wilde’s j’accuse! rings loud in our very own version of his Victorian hell.’ –The Plus Ones
