Two teenagers meet in an asylum seeker processing centre somewhere at the edge of an unnamed country. Stuck in a nothing in-between place too long, love and hope seem like distant, half-forgotten things.

This encore production of acclaimed Swedish writer Ninna Tersman’s sublime play explores the impact made by small offers of kindness in a cold world.

When we fled
We had to walk
It was so cold
We slept on the ground
Wrapped in blankets
Mother was so frightened
Her eyes were almost black
She thought they’d find us
Before we crossed the border
