Would you like to go to Antarctica?

Join Tamblyn on a very peculiar expedition as he follows in the wake of his childhood hero, Sir Douglas Mawson, sailing over the high seas into the wonder (and danger) of the Antarctic wilderness. Share in his real-life adventure with all the exhilaration, challenges and allure of what it is to be an intrepid explorer.

If Antarctica intrigues you, the imaginative and dynamic staging of this show shall further stir your curiosity.

Call Of The Ice is developed from the previous La Mama Exploration, Mawson’s Providence (2015), prior to Tamblyn’s trip to the remote east coast of Antarctica in January 2016.

‘…the production draws on beautiful sounds, images and music of a bygone era to fully capture Mawson’s spirit’. – Patricia Di Risio, Stage Whispers
