Perhaps a changing room can give us room to change each other.

A grieving girl and a nameless woman meet in a swimming pool changing room. They both thought they’d be alone here. Neither of them can leave. They sit together for a while, realising they may find comfort in each other.

I sat and waited but you were gone too long explores the relationship between loss and memory, the difficulty of speech, and the intimacy of strangers. Shortlisted for the Philip Parsons Fellowship for Emerging Playwrights, showcased at the 2016 National Play Festival and developed through La Mama Explorations, this new production will be the play’s world premiere season.
